Following is the link for Naiad buddy for 3dsmax..
but can some1 quickly tell me how to use it. :)
looks like it has to be compiled first..
its the source code
Dave Baker kindly compiled it - it does import meshes from naiad, but looks like no export and no particles yet :) Patience...
Hi Hristo, this compiled plugin wouldn't happen to be downloadable, right? :)
I just asked Dave to join up :)
I've attached the compiled plugin, but like Hristo said, the only thing that seems to work at the moment is mesh import.
I'd better add that this isn't the buddy from the Master branch at Github, it's the code from the Dev branch.
The master branch code wouldn't compile, because it was calling on functions that aren't available in the header files, but the dev branch doesn't use those functions and compiled OK.
great to see you here! :)
will be exciting when buddy works completely with max!!!
It's the Exotic matter guys who are developing it, right? Looking forward to updates :)
And thanks to Dave for helping out!
thanks dave!! hope to see a true buddy for max very soon.. ;)
Thanks for compiling this plugin! Naiad's meshing is very fast compared to other approaches and importing these meshes using the Max Buddy works really well.
I noticed that machines that don't have Naiad installed throws an error when trying to load the plugin... Loads fine on machines with Naiad installed tho. I know it's alpha but just wanted to point it out.
All you guys waiting for the 3ds Max buddy, please check this out! :) Please post your comments there.
Cool, joining up!
Thank you so much for compiling the dlu from the dev branch. I tried using it in Max but there doesn't seem to be a parameter to specify the emp file/sequence with and no geometry is created in Max. How does one load an emp mesh with it? I did notice a Naiad3dsMaxBuddyLog.txt (content below) showing up right after the attempted mesh import in Max, did you run into a similar problem?
Also just for practice, I tried compiling it myself with 0.6.0.70 but no luck there, either.

David, I didn't have any problems loading in EMP files, I just used the utility to browse to where the EMP files were, unchecked the 'Sequence' checkbox and imported.
I must admit that didn't try importing file sequences, but the import of single files definitely worked here.
